Dr. James C. Puccio, DDS — Dental Clinic in Middletown, OH

Dr. James C. Puccio, DDS

Hello, my name is Dr. James C. Puccio DDS. I was born and raised in Middletown where I graduated in 1981 Magna Cum Laude. I went to Miami University in Oxford and graduated in 1985 again Magna Cum Laude. I majored in chemistry with a minor in zoology. I went to Ohio State Dental School and graduated with honors in 1990. I received the following awards from Ohio State; Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society, American Endodontist Association Certificate of Merit, and Academy of General Dentistry Outstanding Senior Dental Student Award. Presently I am a member of the Ohio Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry. I have been practicing dentistry here in Middletown since I graduated and I am now married and have two children. I have been developing my dental philosophy over the years. I want to believe that dentistry can be affordable for everyone. There are many different procedures to accomplish the same goals and with varying fees. Someone doesn't always have to go with the most expensive procedure to save one's tooth. I also believe that if it is not broke, don't fix it. This means that if a filling, crown or whatever is still doing its job but doesn't look like it did years ago, then we do not have to replace it. I also believe that conserving tooth structure is very important. People are living longer these days and we want to make the teeth out last them. Thus, with all my fillings, crowns and with any procedure which requires cutting on tooth structure, I will remove only what is necessary to provide a good product. Along with conserving tooth structure, I believe in prevention. This means having dental cleanings two times a year and brushing and flossing two times a day. If any tooth is starting to decay or have problems, it can be caught early and these fixes remain small. Sometimes these small things can be fixed with out even being numbed. Two new procedures I am doing are Lumineers; require little or no tooth structure removed and no numbing, and restorations on implants, which are affordable ways of replacing teeth or stabilizing dentures also without being numbed.
